Japanese always get laughed Date Masamune from Sengoku Basara speaks Japanese-English (not correct English, ).Probably he was so interested in foreign countries, then he speaks English in games! Very very simple result! Japanese is located so far from other counties, almost Japanese always regard foreigners as American...., then speaks English!
Exactly, Sengoku BASARA is quite CRAZY! Japanese also say the same opinion.
To be honest, it's too shame to say that I'm not good at Japanese history, especially Sengoku era. But I think it's not only me. Over all Japanese young people aren't interested in history. It is so old-fashionated stories and it's complecating that they tend to avoid it. So it's not bad thing for them to have a good opportunity by such odd animation or games. In fact recently there are lot of Japanese "Rekijo" (that means Japanese young ladies who are mania of Japanese history). They love to many historical places and fans of historical figures including Date Masamune. I saw them going around Sendai many times. Some of them are influenced by this animations or games. Besides animation is a big wave of Japanese culture in the world, right? It may be a good idea since some people who are interested in Japanese animation also begin to love Japanese history, too!
